Jaws of Life

These are the lyrics to The Mountain Goats (well, maybe The Extra Glenns) song "How I Left the Ministry. They're only on themountaingoats.net and they're beautiful and hilarious and it's been bothering my mindgrapes how they should be more easily findable on Google.

There is one thing I found I couldn't help thinking
As they pried me free with the Jaws of Life
None of this disaster would ever have happened
If I had not been driving my neighbors wife

To the Alta Loma Days Inn
Where I'd registered us as a couple with a name
I'm sure some other couple somewhere has

And the last thing I saw before falling unconscious
Was your right hand tracing a heart on my thigh
And I thought my God what an infantile gesture
and I thought my God what an an indescribable high

The autumn air was sweeter than a slice of wedding cake
As I overshot the exit and I tried and failed to find the brake

Listening: The Extra Glenns (John Darnielle of the Mountain Goats and Franklin Bruno of Nothing Painted Blue) - How I Left the Ministry

Mind gripe:

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Season 9, Episode 9: Paternity.

So Olivia saves Kathy in addition to driving her to the appointment since Eliot is a bad, sexy, husband and father. And then they name the kid Eli? Come on, he should have been Oliver!
